Our first project began in November 2017 in Kisumu, Kenya. We began by leasing 5 acres of land and added an additional 5 acres in March 2018. The goal is to lease approximately 25 acres in the Kisumu area for the purpose of commercial tree planting.

Planting eucalyptus tree 36 inches apart will maximize the land usage.

By the close of April 2018, Okumu and Brake Investments, LTD, (OBI) had planted 30,000 eucalyptus trees on 10 acres of land. Through careful study and preparation, we were convinced that planting 3000 trees per acre was feasible and would likely maximize the use of the land.

Creating assets from commercial tree planting is nothing new in Kenya. This project is not only an extension of that concept but will expand into new areas that will likely improve tree farming into the future. Continue to follow our blog for regular updates on our progress.
